Statement from AURA CEO Bill Tolpegin RE: Senate approval of Anna Gomez as FCC Commissioner

McLean, VA (Sept. 7, 2023) - Today, the U.S. Senate approved the nomination of Anna Gomez as Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The following statement was released by Bill Tolpegin, CEO of AURA Network Systems.

“Anna Gomez will be a valuable addition to the FCC as she brings decades of policy making experience from key vantage points, namely leadership roles at NTIA, FCC, and in the private sector. The Senate’s approval of Ms. Gomez is also a huge win for the UAS industry given her hands-on understanding of the communications and spectrum issues that need to be addressed to enable routine commercial operations of UAS such as remotely piloted air cargo flights in controlled airspace. We look forward to working with Commissioner Gomez on these matters of great importance to our country.”
