Buckle Up. The Future Arrives Soon

By AURA CEO Bill Tolpegin

In a white paper filed with federal regulators August 14, AURA advocated how the aviation industry needs to recharter its way to commercial AAM flights, calling for a separate and clear process for third-party service providers (like us) while addressing technology architecture, spectrum, and specific policy issues.

Our comments reflect the need for acceleration of the industry and articulate a sense of urgency. We knew it was good news earlier this year when the U.S. Department of Transportation formed the intergovernmental working group and asked for comment, and the overall goal of developing a federal strategy for AAM is much welcomed.

As the headline of our white paper release makes clear, Advanced Air Mobility Depends on Advanced Air Communications. Our point is that communications is existential for the industry – in other words, what we do.

The white paper details that reality, and I want to thank those who put such effort and experience into presenting our thoughts. The future awaits, and what an honor it is to work with you all to help build it.
