Ginger McClendon

Executive Vice President, Technology & Engineering

As AURA’s Executive Vice President of Technology & Engineering, Ginger is responsible for the visionary development and strategic deployment of the company’s greenfield aviation communications network. This includes designing network architecture, as well as managing product engineering and technology labs to achieve overall business objectives.

Utilizing three decades of wireless experience, she advances the company’s service offerings and oversees customer integration, validation, and testing projects. She also supervises the strategy and implementation of core, RAN, transport, software engineering (including DevOps and Data Services), and network operations.

In addition to previously serving as AURA’s Senior Vice President of Software and Infrastructure, Ginger’s tenure includes her advisory role at Contino, providing premium consulting services to Fortune 500 clients in the technical and financial services sectors. She drove delivery of site reliability engineering (SRE) and development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) for cloud, as well as data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities. She specialized in transformation to future-state initiatives, yielding positive return on investment metrics and meeting critical revenue and efficiency objectives.

Ginger also served as Vice President of Engineering for Somos, developing new products and services while leading an expansive transformation effort of legacy infrastructure, applications, and policy – establishing Agile methodology and processes resulting in significant cost reduction and time-to-market improvement.

Her previous wireless industry experience includes several senior roles in technology innovation and architecture, strategy, planning, and development. She is recognized for introducing novel approaches to voice and multimedia, business intelligence/analytics, and transport and backhaul services for next-generation enterprise-wide network management.

Ginger holds a master’s degree in technology management from George Mason University and undergraduate degrees in business management and psychology. She also holds a variety of patents in wireless networking and IP transport.
