Senior Vice President of Legal, Compliance & Regulatory

Denise Olmsted serves as the Senior Vice President of Legal, Compliance & Regulatory at AURA Network Systems, overseeing the company’s legal affairs while providing strategic counsel to ensure the company’s growth and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. With more than two decades of experience in highly regulated industries, Denise brings a wealth of expertise in corporate law, risk management, regulatory compliance, and legal strategy to her role.

Before joining AURA, Denise was Vice President and General Counsel at Aireon, a global aviation surveillance company and pioneer of space-based Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data for the aviation industry. She defined the company’s legal strategy and provided legal and business advice for all regulatory matters. She managed a team of in-house lawyers, contracts professionals, and outside counsel, and oversaw enterprise risk management, compliance programs, and legal matters related to a $250 million credit facility agreement. Her leadership was crucial in supporting successful transactions with domestic and international, commercial, and governmental entities.

Earlier in her career, Denise served as Vice President of Commercial Legal Affairs at Intelsat Corporation, managing legal and contractual matters and overseeing regulatory, trade compliance, market access, intellectual property, and antitrust issues. She played a pivotal role in drafting and negotiating over $1 billion in complex high-technology satellite and launch vehicle procurement agreements and customer contracts, supporting over $2 billion in revenue. She also coordinated the company's M&A activities in transactions valued at over $3 billion, contributing to the successful acquisition and integration of various companies.

Denise holds a JD from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a BA in English from George Mason University.
